I've had more than 30 years’ experience in the Hospitality, Retail and Entertainment industries. I have a strong entrepreneurial spirit and have extensive experience in owning and managing small to medium businesses.
I am a person who instinctively helps people and am genuinely interested in assisting business owners/managers by inspiring them to make positive change in their businesses. Owning my own businesses, I have the emotional intelligence and can empathise with the owners/managers that I mentor but am not afraid to challenge them, hold them accountable and provide leadership to guide them in making difficult decisions to assist in their growth and ongoing success.
Essentially I don't judge you, but challenge you to think differently and ‘look up’.
I was the General Manager of Food and Beverage at Village Cinemas Australia and the General Manager of The Essoign Club, a private legal club for judges and barristers of the Victorian Law Courts.
I am the founder and managing director of Calibre Feasts-Flexible Solutions, a boutique events company that owns a venue and provides custom designed high-performance meals to elite sports teams in Australia and across the globe. Calibre Feasts currently works with AFL, NRL, Super Rugby and A League football teams. Calibre Feasts has been successful in tendering and winning the catering rights to provide workforce meals at the FIFA Womens World Cup on Melbourne July/August 2023.
I am also a director/owner of Global Hospitality Group (GHG) and Borthwick Foods.
GHG is recognised internationally as a global event specialist catering to athletes at Olympic, Commonwealth and Universiade Games. In 2017 GHG tendered and won the rights to cater the athlete’s village dining hall in Taipei, Taiwan for the 29th Universiade Games. GHG were responsible for feeding all athletes and coaches during the games, providing up to 25,000 meals per day for 3 weeks. GHG’s most recent project was looking after the three main bars in Tokyo, Yokohama and Oita stadiums and all beer hawking at 8 stadiums during the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
GHG has recently been awarded to be the Master Caterer for the Main Dining Hall catering at the Pacific Games 2023 on the Solomon Islands. GHG will provide 145,000 meals to athletes and coaches over 18 days.
Borthwick Foods is a proven, reliable source of quality products and services to Melbourne’s Food & Beverage Industry. It is proudly Australian owned and operated business that has been supplying the foodservice industry for over 30 years. Borthwick Foods provides ready to eat/ready to cook products to over 500 food service venues and major event caterers.
I have a genuine interest in passing on knowledge and have built a reputation as a Business Performance Coach with a key focus on problem solving, change management, organisational logistics, service, finance and building sustainable businesses and practices.
Since 2018, I have has sat on the Frankston City Council business coaching panel as a Business Mentor. In 2020 Iwas engaged as a Business Mentor by the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to deliver the Business Recovery and Resilience Program. Owning my own businesses, I am empathetic to the pressures that come with running a business as opposed to being an employee in an organisation. I have a genuine interest in the businesses I coach and look to work with small to medium businesses top help them with the pragmatic side of running their business to build a sustainable and financially viable operation.
I am about giving back and look to inspire the next generation of hospitality professionals. I have worked closely with William Angliss Institute for over 20years where I have taught food and beverage operations and now currently participate in the higher education mentoring program, helping final year students transition from full time study to employment.
I have qualifications in Business Management specialising in Hospitality, a Certificate IV in Workplace and Business coaching and a Certificate IV in Workplace training and assessment. I have most recently completed a Certificate IV in Sports Nutrition to further assist my work with elite sporting teams.
